SUNBACK

By

Poet: Işıl Ayça Akkuş

Doctor, doctor, here she is!
What a young, fiery soul of a phoenix,
An ode to dreams,
A skin of disappointed leaps.

O forest! O sunshine!
I feel it is coming:
All the love promised.
Oh, my orange baby,
White furs within, tiny.
O the pain, the apathy in rain;
I feel my sailing fate of glory.

Once upon a time,
I get lost again.
O forest! O trees,
Ducking a river
In my lifeless frame.

Rays of light,
Mockingbirds in twilights.
O swimming leaves,
I feel my dream is running to me.

O thee! Gazes of hurricane,
Never shall it miss, O mine!
O agony!
Thy love is a disgrace to my legacy.

O the rise! O the fall!
I feel my spring is coming to me.
Farewell, winter,
Farewell, gloomy nights;
I feel the warm light of Arry
Slowly coming back to me.

O future! O goddess, and the fate!
Bring all that was stolen,
Bring joy, my lover, back in the sun
My sun back to me, O light!
