MEETINGS

“Nor is the courage required mere stubbornness—we shall surely have to create with others. But if you do not express your own original ideas, if you do not listen to your own being, you will have betrayed yourself. Also you will have betrayed our community in failing to make your contribution to the whole.”

Rollo May, The Courage to Create

We usually meet once in a month, yet after April’s session at the forest our pens get sharper, and the spring wind brought a spirit of creation. In this meeting, we will start with main ideas from Rollo May’s “Courage to Create”, and focus on the theme of courage and hope. The book higlights the roots of the word “courage”, which has been derived from the “coeur” (heart).

In today’s world, courage might be one of the virtues that we all could practice because it is an active ingredient of our moral, social, and creative world. Come to LocHal and join us, to read, discuss and share the poems about hope and courage.

A NEW ADVENTURE: JOURNEY OF FIVE SENSES

In this series, we will explore a journey through sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. You can expect upcoming editions to feature music, cinema, food, nature, and more.

Our first stop is sight. We will visit De Pont Museum on a Thursday evening. (Admissions are free on Thursdays after 5pm!) We’ll begin with a free style visit through the exhibitions, taking time to experience and reflect on the artworks. Afterwards, we will move to the LocHal Library for a writing and discussion session.

Please bring a pen and a small notebook if you want to capture anything that inspires you.
